Our

FAQ's

Find answers to common questions here.

Do I have to sign up for a treatment plan?
No.  We do not do formal treatment plans in our office as we feel they tend towards over treatment.  We are an outcome based office meaning that we may see you a few times a week in the beginning of your care but as you are feeling better we will start to space out your care.

Do you accept my insurance?
We are on most major medical plans.  It is best for you to call your insurance to see if you have chiropractic benefits, sometimes manual manipulation is covered under your physical therapy benefits.

What will my responsibility be for what insurance doesn't cover?
Personal plans vary greatly and depend on many factors like whether or not you have a copay or co-insurance and if you have met your deductible.  It is best to speak with your insurance to see what type of plan you have.

What is the cracking sound when I get adjusted?
It is not your bones that make the cracking sound sometimes associated with getting adjusted.  There are dissolved gases in the fluid in your joints that congregate into bubbles.  When pressure is applied to the joint sometimes those bubbles pop and release sound.  Sound is not indicative of bones moving.  Some adjustments won't make any sound at all so don't think if you don't hear any sound that your bones didn't move.

Why do you adjust my whole spine if just one part of me hurts?
The spine functions as one unit and will compensate for misalignment.  So if we only correct the area of pain but leave the compensating areas unaddressed it can affect your improvement.

Having my neck done sounds scary, is it dangerous?
There is much misinformation out there regarding getting your neck adjusted.  We use the safest techniques and we pre-screen you for any red flags.  If you've had a recent trauma, a history of cancer, or are severely osteoporotic we may require x-rays of your neck before we feel it is safe for you to be adjusted.  If you have a history of stroke we will not adjust your neck.

If I saw one doctor on my first visit can I only see that doctor?
No! Unless you prefer to stay with one doctor, but most of our patients bounce freely between our doctors.  Some choose who they see based on availability.  Some by adjustment style.  Both our doctors adjust from infant to elderly in all walks of life.  If you have a special need our scheduling staff can help guide you as to which doctor might be the best fit for you.

My problem isn't my back, do you treat other areas?
Yes! Shoulders, knees, foot issues...if there is a joint involved we have options that may help you.

What if I don't improve?
Part of our job is to figure out who can help you if we can't.  If for any reason you are not improving as we expect then we may discuss imaging or further testing.  Depending on your results we may discuss referring you to another type of provider like a surgeon, orthopedic, or pain  management.
